Do you think I'm handsome?

What do I do now I have my Iggy Pup at Home?

The First Few Days

Bringing your new puppy home for the first time is very exciting, but it can be a little bewildering for a tiny pup. Here are a few things you can do to make your puppy feel right at home.

They should be exposed to many new people and situations, always rewarded for doing the right thing, and ignored when they behave in a nervous way.

A puppy needs just the right name to live up to - a name that fits its personality or appearance. Choose a name for your puppy and try to use it often. Your pup will soon respond when you call.

Good bedding

Your puppy needs a secure, sheltered place to sleep. Initially your pup will want a cosy place to snuggle, such as a blanket in a durable box or bed.

A hot water bottle wrapped in a blanket will remind puppy of litter mates and help provide comfort when it is alone. A stuffed toy is also Very comforting.

Food containers

Hungry puppies are enthusiastic eaters so be sure to provide clean, unbreakable feeding containers that are difficult to tip over, and always make sure that fresh, clean water is available.

Bringing a puppy into your home can be a challenging experience as it has a lot to learn about its new environment and you will need to be on your toes to ensure it stays out of mischief! Stay with them at home for a week - Give puppy time to get accustomed to its new home.
